Connecting Students With Higher Education

The Goal

In a bid to attract a larger student population, Occidental College needed to overhaul and refine their existing content. The goal was to break away from an overly formal and professional tone and adopt a friendlier, more relatable one. My role primarily involved the transformation of web copy and email sequences to better reflect the college's true identity.

The Result

Occidental College now presents itself in a more approachable and appealing manner, with the aim of enticing more students to explore and apply to the school. The project was a unique journey of converting institutional information into a story of academic fulfillment, cultural diversity, and personal development, all of which are synonymous with the Occidental College experience.

The Process

The core of my work was aimed at effectively communicating the benefits of attending Occidental College, with a special emphasis on the vibrant student life and the distinctive advantages of studying in a liberal arts environment. The reimagined copy was strategically designed to be warm, inviting, and engaging, thus capturing the attention and interest of prospective students.

By focusing on the unique aspects of the Occidental experience, I was able to create a more personal, connected narrative. The revised copy offers a glimpse into the enriching experiences at Occidental College, showcasing the school as an inviting space for personal and academic growth. The email sequences were similarly geared towards maintaining this narrative continuity, designed to build a sustained interest in potential applicants.
